Set up a Hong Kong Company

It is fast and cost effective to set up a Hong Kong company.

Step 1: Company name search

Every limited company must be incorporated with an unique name that ended with "Limited", the company name can be either in English or in Chinese or both. There are some words to be avoided when choose your company name, (e.g. "Government", "Council", "Authority", "Bank", "Trustee" and so on. Step 2: Register your company

To register a limited company, you should prepare the memorandum and articles of association of the company and provide the followings information:

• Appoint at least 1 directors (aged 18 or above).
• Appoint at least 1 local company secretary (HK resident / HK corporation).
• Minimum 1 members.
• At least one founder member taking one share of the company.
• Company must have a registered business address in Hong Kong.
• Government fee:
  • Company Registration fee – HK$1,720 (If unsuccessful, an application for a refund of HK$1,425 may be made).
  • Business Registration fee – HK$2,250 for a one-year certificate.

Step 3: Open corporate bank accounts

Opening a corporate bank accounts in Hong Kong takes about 1-2 weeks. The required documents and application policy are varies between defferent banks. The followings are the basic requirements:

• A copy of passport
• An address proof of your residential address (e.g. untity bill within 3 months)
• A certified copy of your certificate of incorporation
• A certified copy of your business registration license
• A certified copy of your incorporation form or annual return (if the company incorporated over 1 year)
• Your organizational chart showing the beneficiaries owners of the company
• Your business plan and business supporting documents

Step 4: Application for Hong Kong Working Visa/Employment Visa

If you are a foreign investors and planning to stay and work in Hong Kong. You will required a valid working permit to undertake any type of lawful employment in Hong Kong. The application process is around 4 to 8 weeks.
